Request for Prayer Be part of the Mission
See What God Has Done For Others

TESTIMONY:

My name is Salvador Mamy. I am a Guinean and I live in Guinea. Before knowing Jesus Christ, I was totally lost. I was a drunkard, an adulterer, and an idol worshipper, living in total debauchery. I often quarreled with people. Whenever people spoke about the Gospel, we mocked them, saying they were liars who only used religion to get money from people. We said those things out of ignorance. At a certain point in my life, everything turned upside down. Whenever I did good to someone, instead of thanking me, they spoke evil about me. During that time, my elder brother with whom I was living advised me to go seek protection from idols. We went to a village and took those idols. The native doctor promised me that nothing bad would happen to me anymore, and that my enemies would give up as long as I had those idols. However, after receiving those idols, my life became worse than before. I became the subject of gossip everywhere. My family rejected me. Everyone spoke badly of me, and my wife even abandoned me. I was confused and wondered, “How is it that what was supposed to help me is destroying me?” One day, a pastor invited me to his church. I went, but I did not stay long and eventually left. Later, another servant of God from the Beroea Church, who was on a mission in our village, met me and asked if I was a Christian. I told her, “Christianity doesn’t work for me.” She smiled and said, “Even if it doesn’t work for you, come and celebrate the Easter with us.” It was in 1985, on the eve of Easter. I told her, “I drink and smoke. Tell me, does your church accept that?” She replied, “Just come as you are. There’s no problem.” Therefore, I started attending their church every Sunday. She even encouraged me to go with them to Conakry for their pastor’s reception; he had come from South Korea at that time. We all went there together, and it was during that event that I was baptized. Sometime later, the Kalima Mission came to Guinea. I joined them to help establish churches, and they trained us as pastors. However, one of their pastors began to behave badly, and that deeply disappointed me, so I left the mission. After some time, I joined a Protestant church, where I served as an evangelist. Later, I left and joined Pastor Adrien Koïba to found Christ in Action Church in 2017 in N’Zérékoré. After a while, I left the city to start a farm in another town, because N’Zérékoré is a big city and I had no stable work there. Unfortunately, the farming project failed and I did not get good results. One day, I met Pastor Adrien at a ceremony. He asked where I was living and encouraged me to come back and continue the work of God we had started together. He told me, “Even if you don’t come back to us, join another church — don’t stay away from God’s work.” His words touched my heart. I later visited him, shared all that had happened in my life, including my past mistakes and the fact that I had married several women during those troubled times and none of them left with me. Finally, I surrendered my life to God and decided to serve Him faithfully. In the church, I married a godly woman who has brought me peace and joy. I thank God for that. I have truly known the Lord Jesus Christ, and my life is now transformed. The Lord Jesus Christ has changed my story. Now, I am the secretary in our church. I praise Him forever and invite everyone to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Only He can give true peace and a new life.
